Door Warranty
This warranty is
effective for doors manufactured by Greenwood for use in the United
States and Canada. We warrant our products will be free from defects
in materials or workmanship from date of purchase for five years.
How
to make a claim
Report to the Greenwood Product
Distribution (Canada) Ltd. immediately if you find a problem with your
Greenwood door: We can response quickly if you provide the following:
a) Invoice No. and
date of purchase
b) The best way to contact you
c) The address of where the product can be inspected
d) A description of the problem (photographs are helpful)
Our Response
An acknowledgement
to your claim will be sent within three business days. Investigation
of claim and appropriate response normally require 30 days. If it is
determined that our product does not have a defect covered by the warranty,
you may request an onsite inspection at your own expense. If it is determined
there is a defect, we will either repair the door or ship a replacement
door in the same condition of fitting or finishing as the door originally
sold. If we are unable to provide replacement and repair is not practical
or cannot be made timely, then we will refund the purchase price.
If the claim nonconformity is warp, repair/replacement may defer for
a period up to twelve months from the date of claim. It is not common
for a temporary warp condition will happen as the door panel adjusts
to varying humidity and temperature conditions. This deferral will not
be counted against the warranty period.
What this
warranty does not cover
* Normal wear and
tear, including normal wear and tear of weather-strip; and natural weathering
of surfaces or variations in the color or texture of wood or finish;
cracks that are less than 1/32" in width and/or 2" in length.
* Labor cost for installation, removal or finishing of the door or component.
* Improper finishing procedure to all surfaces (see finishing instruction);
variation or unsatisfactory results in glaze or structure resulting
from application of painting or any other finishing material.
* Minor contraction/expansion arisen from environmental changes. Shrinkage
of panel (1/4" or less) due to temperature and humidity; consult Greenwood
on how to work with this natural movement.
* Misuse or not following the protection/ maintenances; an appropriate
overhang was not provided; or any consequences beyond our control (e.g.
fire, flood, earthquake, other acts of nature and acts of third parties
outside of our control).
* Improper installation/assembly causing problem related to water and
or air infiltration.
* Frame/jamb bending and structural integrity issues or problems caused
by improper fitting of the hardware or sizing of the panel.
* Unexpected damage such as damage during transportation.
* Damage or poor product performance resulting from installation into
a condition that exceeds product design standards and/or performance
specifications and/or does not comply with applicable building codes.
No person (distributor,
dealer or representative of Greenwood Product) has the authority to
alter, adjust or broaden this warranty. This warranty applies to the
original purchaser (the contractor/distributor/ purchaser and the initial
owner of the structure where the product is initially installed) and
is not transferable. Before the purchase, the original purchaser acknowledges
that they have read this warranty, understand it and are bound by its
terms and agree to provide this warranty to the original owner of the
structure into which the product is installed.

Doors finishing instructions
Stain and clear finish for
Greenwood Interior door, French door & Bifold door:
All Greenwood doors and frames
come with one coat of clear lacquer sanding sealer.
1. Always store doors inside
at room temperature 18-24C
2. Ensure the door is smooth,
clean and dry. Allow the door to acclimate in the shop for more than
48 hours.
3. Lightly sand all surfaces
with 220 sand paper.
4. Ensure all surfaces are
completely clean and blemish free.
5. Use a clear or tinted
(for color) lacquer for the first coat.
6. Allow 24 hours between
coats for drying and lightly sand with 220 paper between coats.
7. Follow the same procedures
to finish the wood frame and moulding surfaces.
Any other stain, finish or
color change MUST be done by a professional in this trade.
